Glenmary Home Missioners ~Serving Mission Land, USA
Each year our parish community has the opportunity to support the Church's missionary efforts through a special collection. This year we are blessed to learn more about Glenmary Home Missioners, a religious community of priests, brothers, and lay coworkers serving the home missions of the United States. Br. Jude Smith will speak at each of our Masses on September 26th and 27th.
Br. Jude is a Glenmary religious brother who made his Final Oath on May 23rd, 2026. His ministry focuses on outreach to those in need withing a six-county area in southwest Georgia. He serves as an ombudsman to long-term care facilities, and helps coordinate food pantry outreach, transitional housing, and more. He is currently studying to become a health coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to learn more about Glenmary's missionary outreach in Appalachia and the rural South. We invited you to share your prayers and financial support for this important ministry. Visit their website for more information www.glenmary.org.
Thank you for your generosity.
Catholic Education: An Investment in Our Children and Our Faith
Each month, you will find a Catholic Education envelope in your parish offertory packet. Your generous contribution helps support Catholic education throughout our Diocese, including Bishop Larkin Catholic School.
Catholic education is an important part of our mission as a parish and as a Church. Last year, St. Michael Parish was assessed $34,706.00 by the Diocese for Catholic School support. Through the generosity of our parishioners, we contributed $8,204.00 toward this obligation, leaving a significant $26,502.00 shortfall that must be covered by the parish.
We need your help!
Please consider using the Catholic Education envelope each month and making a generous contribution. Every gift, large or small, helps us fulfill our responsibility to support Catholic education and provide children with an education rooted in faith, knowledge, and the Gospel values of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for helping St. Michael Parish support Catholic education and the children and families who benefit from this important ministry.
From Leo to Leo Series
Since 1878, 12 men have served the Church as pope. The modern era of the papacy began with Leo XIII and continues with Leo XIV. Those who have led the Church have included an academic, a diplomat, a librarian, an actor, a whimsical writer, and a mountain climber. These faith-sharing gatherings are opportunities to meet each of these pontiffs and reflect on their lives and leadership in the light of Scripture. Join us on Tuesday mornings 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or Thursday evenings 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (both in the Malin Center). This session will run for twelve consecutive weeks beginning August 25th or August 27th. You can attend whenever you're available, don't feel obligated to attend every single class.
Why We Worship
Christians today have lots of different opinions about what "worship" should look like. Some think it should be all preaching, others think it should be 'entertaining" and all about music. But what does the Bible say about worship? And why do Catholics do what they do at Mass?
Please joins us as Dr. Brant Pitre explains Why We Worship.
